Ultrasonography, commonly called sonography, is a diagnostic medical procedure that uses high frequency sound waves (ultrasound) to produce dynamic visual images of organs, tissues, or blood flow inside the body.
This type of procedure is often referred to as a sonogram or ultrasound scan.
This procedure is technically demanding and requires extensive operator experience to provide accurate diagnostic interpretation. We at True Companion understand how valuable this tool can be for our patients, and therefore, the doctors have committed hours of additional training to master these skills.
Common indications for ultrasound evaluation of a pet include, chronic vomiting or abdominal pain, heart disease, or any illness in which diagnosis is not obtainable of physical exam, blood tests, and radiography (x-rays).
